Many of us do not always remember our dreams. We hear many people say, particuilarly men, that they usually don't dream at all. This is not true. Everyone dreams. Because of the different stages of sleep and the time between dreaming and waking, many of us by the time we awake in the morning have forgotten what occured in our mind during our sleeping hours. When most of us awake in the morning we do not think of what happened while we slept that night, we think about what will happen during our waking life that day. So how do we train ourselves to think of what occured during the night while we slept? With a little practice remembering your nightly dreams can become very easy. The first thing you should do is keep a pen and paper handy next to your bed. UPON AWAKING, either in the morning or at any point during the night, BEFORE getting out of bed, STOP and THINK about the dream or dreams you were having that night. After giving it a few minutes of thought, jot down as much detail about the dream as you possibly can. This note writing will also come in handy for the interpretation of your dreams with our online dream dictionary. Try to make dream recollection a habit upon every awakening. Most dreams are forgotten by the rush of getting out of bed and rushing off to our daily routines. Force yourself to take those few extra minutes in bed to think over your dreams each morning. Once you get into the habit of thinking about your dreams first thing upon awakening, you will see just how easy it really is to remember them. |
